Job Description Summary / TWC Summary

Responsible for functions related to teaching graduate level courses; advising graduate students; supervising student interns; engaging in scholarly activities in areas relevant to the department and college; and assuming departmental and college committee responsibilities.

Essential Duties Summary

Teaching counseling courses at the graduate level. Advising graduate students. Participation in internship and practicum programs. Engaging in scholarly research. Serving on departmental and college committees. Participating in professional activities including internal and external conferences and seminars. Other duties within the range of skills normally associated with a position of this classification in an evolving teaching and learning environment.

Education

Earned Doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education and Supervision or a related field.

Required Licensing/Certification

School Counselor Certificate and/or Licensed Professional Counselor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants should be dynamic individuals who can engage in continued curricular development, excellence in teaching, and scholarly activity, and growth in funded research. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to secure grants both local and federal is preferred.

Work Experience

Preferred University teaching experience; evidence of public service and scholarly activity; and, familiarity with diverse educational settings. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of CACREP Accreditation Standards preferred.

Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities

Work Complexity/Budget Authority
